Virginia Umayam , a Palauan police officer who is part of the peacekeeping efforts in Darfur were among the contingents decorated for their dedication to the mission.
In order to qualify for UNAMID, one must have dedicated services for at least six months to qualify for the medal.
Medal Parades are occasional Ceremonies organized for Peacekeepers who have dedicated their services to the UN in the course of Peace in Countries raged by war or other conflict situations.
Also a total of 36 Police advisors from the East African countries Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda were decorated with the same medals.
