Congressional Act 16-15 was born out of this discussion.
Mori, in his transmittal letter to lawmakers, gave his sincere appreciation for the “benevolent initiative of the 16th Congress in passing this act.”
Mori joined the Congress in extending sympathy and assistance to FSM’s neighboring countries in the region that have been devastated by natural calamities, and he has written to several heads of state personally extending his condolences.
The Micronesia Red Cross will be responsible for sending out the aid to the various nations.
