Nate Mateo fired six of his 13 points, Jorge De Guzman scored seven and Ronald Delos Reyes hit a three-point shot in the final quarter to help Hyatt finish off MBI, 94-73.
Hyatt ended the first quarter with a three-point lead from Chris Arreza’s five straight points before Mateo pulled Hyatt away in the second quarter with six straight two-pointers.
Ivan De Vero was sizzling with 12 points in the first and second quarter for MBI but Edmark Mendoza and Bernard Aquino led Hyatt in putting clamps on their opponent’s offense.
Gino Libuw scored four of his six points in the final quarter to help Hyatt stretch lead and secure their victory.
Bart Demapan and White Capalad contributed 12 and 10 points respectively to assist De Vero in a losing try to bounce back.
CPA 86, ARFF 48
Ed Diaz, Jeff Cloud and Leo Apelo poured in double-figure points leading Commonwealth Ports Authority to hand Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting its 10-game losing streak, 86-48.
ARFF’s attempt to stop Jeff Cloud resulted to two free throws before Diaz blasted from outside the rainbow line, and Apelo invested six points to set an early lead in the first quarter.
Diaz and Apelo continued the surge in the second quarter to keep the gap wide open and CPA never looked back.
Jeff Quitugua scored 22 points for ARFF.
