“We identified the leak at 3 p.m. on Oct. 22,” CUC deputy director for wastewater operations Bruce Megarr said.
The public was advised not to fish or swim in the area while CUC increased water sampling from the location.
Megarr said CUC used honey wagons to haul sewage from the area and treated the sewage found in the surface area.
“A set of eight to 12 guys on 12-hour shifts worked hard on it,” he added.
He said they also monitored the surrounding area for 24 hours.
The repairs were finished at 10 p.m. on Oct. 23.
“We did what we have to do to fix it. The leak was stopped significantly,” Megarr said.
