Over 1,000 guests expected to join mad hatter’s ball

NMI Red Cross Executive Director John Hirsh yesterday said that sales were going great, but tickets were still available.

Hirsh is calling on the community to support the ball which marks the 21st fundraising event of the American Red Cross Club 200’s in the CNMI.

The event will be held at the Hyatt Regency Garden area from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Oct. 24.

Hirsh said hats and costumes are suggested but not required although there will be a costume contest.

“We are fortunate to invite the legendary musician from Hawaii — Willy K to provide entertainment and music for us,” Hirsh said.

Willy K will perform with four members of his band.

Saipan’s Burning Bush will also provide entertainment.

Hirsh said the event is to help raise money to support the NMI chapter of the American Red Cross.

Tickets are $100 each, and includes a buffet dinner, an open bar, and an entry to the raffle draw.

“We have a lot of new features and attractive prizes for winners in the raffle draw. We encourage everyone to get their tickets now, enjoy a spectacular night of fun while at the same time supporting the causes of the Red Cross, ” Hirsh said.

Hirsh was the guest speaker at the Saipan Rotary Club meeting at the Hyatt Regency yesterday.

For the event, the Hyatt Regency Saipan is offering a special hotel rate by giving ticket holders a $91 plus 10 percent rate on the night of Oct. 25 and 26.

The grand prize winner in the raffle draws will get $15,000 while the first prize will win $10,000 cash.

Hirsh total cash prizes to be given away will be $34,800.

The prizes include a half day fishing charter for four persons on Pelly’s Boat Charters, two three-minute Joeten Supermarket shopping sprees, and a captain’s tour and lunch on the USNS Jack Lummus for four persons.

Other prizes include two  tickets from Asiana Airlines to Seoul Korea, four tickets from Continental Airlines anywhere in Asia which include Hyatt Hotel stay, two tickets from Northwest Airlines to anywhere in the U.S., a Guam getaway package for two including round trip air fare, Rent-a-car, two-night hotel stay and $200 spending money, Club Elan membership for two, Gold’s Gym Membership for two, 18,000 BTU Split air-conditioning unit from Chong’s Corp., Roshi’s $500 worth of gift certificates, Saipan Sunset Cruise for two on  Jade Lady, overnight stays at Palms Resort, Fiesta Resort, PIC, Tinian Dynasty, waterpark passes at World Resort, rounds of golf certificates  from Coral Ocean Point and Laulau Bay, spa treatments,  cellphones and airtime from IT&E and DoCoMo.
