The match between Rangers and Western Union (WU) started out as a championship match woul;dbe as both teams played hard on getting their offence working for them while putting up a strong defensive blocks to stop their opponent from getting the momentum of the brawl. After ending the first hald with a score of 32 – 25 where the veteran team on the upperhand, WU improvised a plan where they got their stellar players, Bautista and Alambra playing like a decoy to create scoring opportunities to the rest of the squad inside the hardcourt. As a result, towering rookie Patena and “the fast and furious” Teczon went for the challenge and scored time and time again in helping their team get passed on their competitor. With both scoring a total of 21 apiece for team WU they were able to outscore Rangers team on the third canto to gain the lead at 49 – 40. And Teczon still hot on the final minutes of the match, he was able to make consecutive baskets once more to extend on their lead and finally closing the lights out of Rangers on game three and became the 2009 FBL Titlist.
In the battle third place, Jaguar and Surangel were able excite the crowd once again with another heart attack finish where Surangel won 89 – 88. A see saw battle from the start to finish, Surangel was able to duplicate their game two win when Reyes sank a single free throw to win. This time it is still Reyes but was able to drop two points to gain a 1 point lead. On the other hand, Jaguar tried to get the final shot but was not able to connect to finally end their agony and succumb to team Surangel to win third place.
