The council’s president is Joe Itibus, according to Fr. Celso G. Magbanua Jr., the parish administrator.
He said a report on the dinner fundraiser during the fiesta was presented to the council.
“We are really very thankful because there were a lot people who supported us in the fundraiser,” Magbanua said.
They raised enough money for the parish fiesta, he added.
“Many people came and a lot of people lined up for dinner. We really felt the fiesta atmosphere,” he said.
Also discussed during the meeting was the celebration of the Immaculate Conception on Dec. 8.
“It is a holiday of obligation. We will have Mass here at 6 and 9 a.m. on Tuesday,” Magbanua said.
The Misa de Gallo will start on Dec 16 at 5 a.m.
“We like to have it the traditional way in Kristo Rai with Pastorela songs with a different theme everyday,” Magbanua said.
The parish, however, did not push through with the golf tournament this year because of the CNMI elections.
“I think the highlight of our 2010 activities will be the golf tournament. We are hoping that this will be a big one because I heard from the meeting that the people are always looking forward to the golf tournament of Kristo Rai because it’s a big fundraising activity,” Magbanua said.
The council likewise tackled the Diocesan Silver Anniversary in January as well as the proposed project of the United Filipino Organizations regarding a room for those who bring their children to Mass.
There are also plans to convert the chapel inside the church into a Perpetual Adoration Chapel.
“I’m very thankful for the Parish Pastoral Council members of Kristo Rai because they are always there no matter what,” Magbanua said.
