Participants also received free condoms.
“We wanted to increase awareness among teenagers and students on how to protect themselves from HIV,” said Aling Ogumoro of the HIV and STD Resource and Treatment Center.
The center on Navy Hill is open and available to those who want help about STDs.
According to Ogumoro, the results of the HIV test are confidential.
Those who tested HIV positive are encouraged to approach the center for appropriate help and solutions, he said.
Flyers were given out during the counseling that started at 8 p.m. and ended at 12 noon.
“I am glad to receive a condom package since it is expensive to buy one from a store,” an NMC student said.
