Every year, the CNMI registers an average of 1,000 births, Roxanne Diaz, Public Health program analyst, said.
As of Dec. 5, the Commonwealth Health Center recorded only 54 pregnant mothers who had been given the vaccine, she added.
“Some pregnant woman don’t see the benefit of the vaccine, but they need it,” she said.
Pregnant women, she added, should go to their health providers for their pre-natal examination and H1N1 vaccine.
They can also get it from the Southern Community Wellness Center in San Antonio, which has a CHC registered nurse.
