‘Ice’ trafficker gets 1-year jail term

Zhou Fan Zhang, 30, aka “Brother,” was tagged as the driver of the getaway vehicle used by a suspect in the Pink Pawnshop robbery on Oct. 23.

Associate Judge Perry Inos ordered Zhang to serve 100 hours of community service, pay $100 in court assessment fee, and undergo random drug testing as well as complete substance counseling at the Community Guidance Center.

Zhang was directed to disassociate himself from or don’t reside near illegal drug traffickers, and obey CNMI and federal laws.

Zhang, together with his wife Xuena Yu, 22, were arrested by the Department of Public Safety for “ice” trafficking, and involvement in the pawnshop robbery on Beach Road, Chalan Kanoa.

Police said Zhang dropped the robbers Marlon Martin and Fernando Quitano near the pawnshop.

Zhang then waited for the two at the Round House, across from the U.S. Postal Office.

Martin was eventually arrested while Quitano met Zhang at their rendezvous and escaped.

Quitano was later arrested.
