Tile mosaic by students will be displayed at SSHS

It will be placed at the entrance of the school near the monument.

“I put it on the front burner this year and I’m so excited of finishing it,” Wood said.

Eighty students from Wood’s four classes are working on it.

One of his former students, Alex Joseph, still attends the ceramic class.

She also helps with the tile mosaic.  “I graduated but still visit because I love ceramics class.”

According to Wood, “The tile mosaic is actually a project that we have been working on for three years. It was designed three years ago and we’ve slowly chipped our way out of with the free time we had. We are also going to be working on some stools for a new bench area.”

He  hopes to do more of these  projects.

“Not many of the techniques in ceramics are new to the students. The projects that we do kind of push the limits of their experience in doing ceramics so far,” Wood said.
