“He must continue his efforts and must fulfill the promises he made to the people during the campaign period,” he said.
He also congratulated Republican Rep. Heinz S. Hofschneider “for doing his best during the campaign.”
Deleon Guerrero supported Hofschneider, who lost by 370 votes to Fitial of the Covenant Party.
According to the former senator, the two must now work together as a team.
When asked about his political plans, Deleon Guerrero said he wants to live normally and spend more time with his family and grandchildren.
“I want to concentrate on my family,” he added.
Deleon Guerrero finished last in the four-way gubernatorial election on Nov. 7. He endorsed Hofschneider in the Nov. 23 runoff.
One of Deleon Guerrero’s supporters said the people “must accept the results of the election and move on.” Lesley Santos, a resident of Garapan, at the same time said they are hoping for positive changes next year.
