Little leaguers have until Friday to submit papers

SLLI is informing all coaches and managers that the deadline for the submission of player registration form, medical release form, copies of accident insurance policy or card, birth certificate, and volunteer forms is on Friday, Jan. 22.

SLLI said this is to allow for ample time for the board of directors to prepare for the game schedule ahead of the opening date which is Feb. 21, and for the screening of each player to ensure they meet the age and residency requirements.

For safety and emergency purposes, parents are advised to indicate on the medical release form if the child has some kind of allergy, medical problems, including those that require maintenance medication like diabetes, asthma and seizure disorder.

This information is necessary to ensure that medical personnel have details of any medical problem which may interfere with or alter treatment.

The form, together with the player registration form must be signed by parents or guardian of the child.  Player’s without insurance can purchase premium for $35 at AON Insurance in Garapan.

The SLLB will not allow any more extensions after the Friday deadline and is urging all responsible to gather all the above mentioned documents and submit them on or before the deadline.

It is highly recommended that teams stick with the deadline and not delay any further.  This arrangement will allow the coaching staff to concentrate on their practice and not worry about the deadline.  Game schedules for all four divisions will be prepared and disseminated to all teams starting on Feb. 1.
