Nine Republicans showed up for the session that was supposed to start at 10 a.m.
Twelve members were absent.
The delegation’s pro tem chairman is Republican Rep. Ramon A. Tebuteb.
Of the 21 members, 10 are Republicans, seven are with the Covenant Party, one is a Democrat and three are independents.
Speaker Froilan C. Tenorio, Covenant-Saipan, called for a leadership meeting in the afternoon.
Members from the different political parties attended the meeting, according to a staffer, but it wasn’t finished as of press time.
Variety was told that the Covenant Party members purposely boycotted the delegation session.
The delegation acts on bills, including spending measures, that affect Saipan and the Northern Islands only.
