Hoopaholics in 3-game sweep; Ol’ Aces send Estate to winless streak

As the Unified Basketball Association’s Men’s League comes closer to the finals, the Hoopaholics just needed to break the tie with the Prospects to have a better grasp of playoff slot.

Villacrusis bombarded the Prospects with two three-pointers and connected two successful inside plays to bank 11 points in the first quarter.

Peter Mendiola and Melvin Manibusan both worked hard in offensive rebound and earned their share of actions for six points apiece helping the Hoopaholics look strong in the beginning of the second quarter.

Villacrusis took a break and Syl Teregeyo picked up where he left off sizzling with 10 points.

Both firing three-pointers, Raymond Cadagat and Ehrol Peredo  scored 11 points apiece to help the Prospects trimmed down the lead in the second quarter.

But Dave Diaz blasted from outside the three-point line twice in this period and the Hoopaholics hanged on to their lead towards the half time break.

Ryan Sanciangco and Cadagat sank three-pointers apiece in the third quarter and the Prospects were just two points behind at the end of the third quarter.

John Sablan sizzled with 12 points including a pair of three-point shot to stretch the lead again in the final quarter.

Villacrusis and Gyles Ruluked added four more points apiece and the Hoopaholics secured their 87-81 victory.

New Fresh Ol’ Aces 87, Trinity Estate 33

Jack Lizama and Pete Iguel established the lead in the first quarter and the New Fresh Ol’ Aces never looked back leading to their 87-33 rout of Trinity Estate.

Mike Olaitiman poured-in nine of his 13 points in the second quarter to help Ol’ Aces widen the gap.

Only Dave Diaz scored for Trinity Estate, a three-pointer in the third quarter as New Fresh Ol’ Aces continue to pull away with Lizama and Dan Barcinas adding seven and six of their total points.

New Fresh Ol’ Aces maintained their stiff defense and nailed Trinity Estate to 33 points.
