This relationship, according to Trench Tech promoter Cuki Alvarez will have a “huge impact” in the Korean community on Saipan.
This, he added will also help spread the awareness that MMA is another sport that can bind Koreans and NMI residents together.
“Trench Tech is very happy to have established this connection with Korean Top Team,” Alvarez said.
Saipan MMA, he noted has already established network with other MMA athlete organizations in different parts of the world.
Through Trench Tech, the island MMA community has brought in fighters from Russia, Japan, Hawaii and the USA.
Along with the three professional MMA fighters, Lim Hyun Gyu, Kang Bum Chan and Gu Young Nam, a team managers and a corner man will arrive on Feb. 10.
They will stay at the Aquarius Beach Tower and will stay until the Jan. 14 after the fight night set for Feb. 12 at the Saipan World Resort.
The KTT members, Alvarez said live, train and fight full time in Korea and Japan.
Gyu will face Trench Tech’s Slade “The Rage” Adelbai for the 185 pounds; Chan will fight Fasi “Quick Draw” Jesse in the 155; and Nam is matching up with Chris “No Luv” Laayug in the 145 lbs.
These fights that will constitute Fearless’ triple main event, Alvarez said are among many opportunities that fighters from Russia and Korea and Japan are soon seeing action in Trench Warz.
“We are committed to continue bringing in top level fighters from around the world to compete with the best fighter athletes Guam and Saipan have to offer,” Alvarez said.
