It will conduct an evaluation of a project on coastal fisheries development assistance in Yap.
The project evaluation mission is expected to be in the FSM from Feb. 1 to 10.
The first week of the mission will allow the delegation to be in Pohnpei for meetings with representatives from the national government.
They are expected in Yap on Feb. 6-10.
One of the main reasons for the visit to Yap is for the group to confirm the project’s purpose, accomplishments and its sustainability in the future.
The project evaluation is necessary in order for the Japan Overseas Fishery Cooperation Foundation to further enhance the effectiveness of the project implementation.
The foundation hopes to use the information learned from this evaluation for its future projects in the islands.
While in Yap, the mission will be visiting the project site to observe and hear from the project personnel including the local fishermen about their experience and as to how the project is progressing.
The group will also meet with state officials before leaving Yap on Feb. 10.
