Enjoying the 10-game winning streak over Team Familia last week, the Island Rebels now falls behind Natibu and Man Amigos in the regular season standings.
BJ Attao who drove-in a run with a single was already in the scoring position when Ray Cepeda popped the fatal home run. In this particular league, a team can not hit more than three home runs unless the opponents get even.
The Saipal defenders allowed only Oscar Sablan to hit a solo home run in the top of the third inning. Then in the next half, John Wayne Kintaro and Lawrence Dikito singled before Hayes drove in run on a sacrifice fly, and Saipal had three runs to take the lead.
BJ Babauta hit a solo home run and Byron Kaipat fired a two-run home run to help the Island Rebels come back in the top of the fourth. They were also able to freeze Saipal with outfielder Roy Celis catching Hector Efraim’s land drive and Gloyd Martin’s fly ball.
Saipal retaliated in the fifth shutting them down in the outfield. Roy Celis committed the first undesirable home run that helped hold the Island Rebels back.
Kuich Damian launched a two-run homerun in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead again.
Down by two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, McQueen Masaharu singled before Bobai pushed him to the home plate with home run.
And with only one out, Luis singled and Dikito moved him to scoring position.
Luis scored the winning run after Hayes made the base hit.
Chura 29, Team Familia 6
After leftfielder Jess Iguel’s opening shot went pfft, Chura stormed Team Familia with seven base hits including Muron Sablan’s two-run home run.
Pitcher, Mel Sakisat started the streak with an RBI single, followed by Pete Tomokane with the same feat.
Fred Kaipat also added a run-scoring single, Dave Camacho knocked-in a two-un single and Chura had strong first inning.
Tomokane launched a three-run homerun, Kaipat has a solo shot and the Chura sluggers never looked back. They continued the surge in the third with Jess Iguel hitting a run-scoring triple this time, Stan Laniyo, Fred Sato and Tyron Omar knocking in an RBI single apiece.
Man Amigos 21, Ramblers 11
From an eight-run deficit in the third inning, the Man Amigos rallied in the bottom of the third to cut the Ramblers’ lead big time, then, surged towards the sixth inning to win.
Peter Sablan and JJ Laniyo’s solo home run cushioned the Man Amigos in the second inning and when the Ramblers stretched their lead again in the top of the third, Eric Palacios fired a three-run home run and Jerry Ayuyu hit a solo home run to trim it down.
Short stop Peter Sablan and first baseman JJ Laniyo foiled the Ramblers attempt to pull away.
Then, in the bottom of the fifth, John Terlaje led off a solo home run, Laniyo and Joey Dela Cruz had an RBI single apiece and the Man Amigos never trailed.
They continued the surge in the sixth inning with six more base hits to finish off the Ramblers.
