DEQ wastewater, earthmoving and erosion control branch manager David Rosario was punched by Francisco Camacho, the husband of Marsha, who is the branch’s administrative specialist.
Department of Public Safety spokesman PO2 Eric David said Camacho was arrested on Saturday at his residence in Dandan.
Police said on Feb. 11, at about 1:16 p.m., Rosario called 911 and reported an assault and battery incident that occurred at DEQ’s main office in Gualo Rai.
Preliminary investigation showed that at about 9 a.m., Rosario gave a verbal reprimand to Camacho related to her work.
Later that afternoon, Rosario said he was in his office typing, when suddenly he was punched on the right side of his face that caused him to fall.
He identified his assailant as Camacho’s husband, Francisco.
Police said Rosario tried to stand up but Mr. Camacho held him against the table and continued beating him by punching the right side of his face and back.
Rosario pleaded with Camacho to stop beating him but the defendant kept punching the victim, and at the same time asking Rosario what was he doing to his wife, police said.
It was the wife who stopped her husband from further assaulting Rosario, police said.
Rosario sustained injuries to the left side of his body and right side of his face, police said.
Accident
In other news, police said a 49-year-old female from Koblerville threw herself out of a moving vehicle because of an argument she was having with the operator, later identified by the police as the victim’s son.
DPS did not release the names of the victim and the vehicle’s operator.
“Police have reason to believe that alcohol was contributing factor and placed this case under further investigation status,” David said.
Investigation showed that on Feb. 12, 2010, at about 12:48 a.m., police were dispatched to a reported injured person incident in front of Big Garden Restaurant on Middle Road in Chalan Laulau.
Police said the victim fell out of the moving vehicle operated by her son, and into the direct path of a tour bus which struck her, causing severe injuries to her lower extremities and head trauma.
Police said medics arrived at the scene to treat her for severe head and bodily injuries before she was rushed to the Commonwealth Health Center where she immediately underwent surgery.
