BASA president Brian Adelbai said they are expecting eight teams to join the softball league that has been bringing players 40 years old and older into the ball field for fours years now.
Last year where only seven teams participated, Team IT&E won the Masters championship against Peleliu.
Adelbai said that as soon as all the participating teams turn in the entry fees, he assured there will be no delay in the Masters Softball opening.
He added that along side the Masters Softball, the Belau Association also plans to hold a women’s league.
Since 2008 when six teams participated, Belau has not had women’s softball league.
There only four women’s team that came forward last year that is why they decided not to move ahead, Adelbai said.
