Crisostomo, 42, was ordered released by the court after he posted a $10,000 bail.
Crisostomo will return to court for his arraignment on Feb. 22, 2010.
Earlier, Associate Judge Perry Inos found probable cause to believe that Crisostomo commited the crimes of one count of assault and battery, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of criminal mischief, one count of disturbing the peace, one count of criminal contempt, and one count of violating an order of protection.
Police said Crisostomo attacked and threatened to kill Thomas Asack with a machete on the morning of Jan. 31, 2010.
The court earlier issued a temporary restraining order against Crisostomo to stay away from Asack.
