He said when he was sworn in, his office had no functional equipment for road repairs.
Improving the island’s secondary roads in the villages to make it more accessible to residents and tourists is one of the projects of Flores.
He said the mayor’s office is operating on a tight budget but he will do all he can to improve the secondary roads in many villages.
Flores said his office also wants to beautify the roads by planting trees.
Another project that the mayor is working on is the numbering of houses on island.
“This will help everyone to easily locate homes in the villages,” Flores said.
He also plans to restore broken street name signs, and clean the villages of litter, junk cars, scrap metals and other debris that are also health hazards.
