Defendants Angel Palacios, Melanie Camacho, Heirzan Martinez, Eria W. Elliot, Fred Joy, Daniel Kintol, and Charleston Y. Aiken appeared in court for their arraignment last week.
Palacios, 22, was charged with one count of vehicular homicide, one count of driving under the influence, four counts of reckless driving, and one count of driving on right side of highway in connection with a fatal vehicular collision last April.
The case was dismissed without prejudice by the court last Dec. 31, 2009 because the Attorney General’s Office could not proceed to trial last month due to lack of prosecutors.
The AGO re-filed the case against Palacios after Assistant Attorney General Jennifer Dockter was hired and assigned to prosecute the case.
An employee of DFS Galleria, Melanio Camacho, 41, denied the charge that she took $16,000 from the firm’s vault from about March through December last year.
Camacho is facing one count of theft by failure to make required disposition of funds received, and one count of theft.
The AGO filed an amended complaint which named Heirzan Martinez a co-defendant of Roman Cabrera III, both 18.
Martinez and Cabrera are facing one count of attempted burglary, one count of criminal mischief, and one count of conspiracy to commit burglary on Jan. 12, 2010.
Chief Public Defender Adam Hardwicke requested that defendant Eria W. Elliot, 28, be brought for psychological evaluation to the Commonwealth Health Center.
The court granted the motion.
Elliot was charged with seven counts of disturbing the peace, four counts of criminal trespass, one count of criminal mischief, and one count of theft.
On Oct. 11, 2009, Elliot created trouble at D’Elegance Restaurant in Garapan, disturbed the peace of the customers, and damaged the establishment’s glass door by kicking it, the AGO stated.
Two days later, the same establishment called the Department of Public Safety regarding the disturbance created by Elliot after he entered and asked money from customers who were then having their breakfast.
On Dec. 8, 2009, Elliot entered Winchell’s Donut Shop, also in Garapan, and shouted at customers.
On Jan. 5, 2010, Elliot again entered Winchell’s and asked for a dollar from customers.
After the customers declined to give him a dollar, Elliot grabbed a cup of clam chowder from one of them and ate it at the adjacent table.
A similar incident happened at Winchell’s on Jan. 12, 2010 involving the defendant.
On Dec. 17, 2009, Elliot went to Winchell’s and 99 Cents Supermarket, also in Garapan, where he asked money from customers.
Fred Joy, 24, was arrested for disturbing the peace, assault and battery, and criminal mischief.
Joy, and another companion, beat up Jia Gui Yan on Jan. 4, 2010, the AGO said.
Daniel Kintol, 27, assaulted and disturbed the peace of Carolina Senovio Dulva on Oct. 13, 2009, the AGO stated.
It added that Kintol threatened to kill Dulva by choking her.
Charleston Yamada Aiken, 28, is facing four counts of assault and battery, and one count of disturbing the peace.
On Dec. 10, 2009, the AGO said Aiken choked Sylvan Lisua Teregeyo at Northern Mariana College.
After Teregeyo ignored Aiken, the defendant slapped the victim more than eight times in the face, walked away and reported the matter to police, the AGO stated.
Teregeyo used to date Aiken’s girlfriend before, police said.
