Jemenniel Recorte is Mr. Marianas Bikini Open 2010 while Diana Jean Castro is Miss Marianas Bikini Open 2010.
Recorte was also the Best in Costume, the Best in Formal Wear and Mr. Body Beautiful.
Castro was named Miss Congeniality and the Best in Casual Wear.
Recorte and Castro also won the Best in Costume Award, and were chosen as the King & Queen of Hearts during the presentation night at the Hard Rock Café on Feb. 5.
Right from the start, the two were the crowd favorites and nobody was surprised when they won.
Recorte said it was his first time to participate in such a competition.
“I didn’t expect to win. I just relaxed and did my best but I’m very happy,” Recorte said.
Castro said she also did not expect to be chosen as Miss Marianas Bikini.
“Winning this title can add to my self-confidence and boost my self-esteem,” Castro said. She hopes to pursue a career in modeling someday.
Event organizer Sharmaine Casquero said she was very happy with the success of the event.
“We worked hard to give the community a spectacular show and it paid off,” she said.
Hard Rock Café Saipan operations manager Rey Perez thanked the sponsors and the community for supporting the project.
He also thanked the Green Meadow dance students, Project Impact and Rick Custodio who was the emcee during the presentation night on Feb. 5 and the coronation night on Feb. 12.
Part of the proceeds from the event will go to the Mariana Islands Nature Alliance.
Major and minor awards
Fifth runners up were Jacob Gonzales and Eloisa Alejo, while Kurt Deon Oco and Jessa Castro were fourth runners up. Third runners up were Polo Salazar and Leslie Elameto. Second runners up were Angelo Hernandez and Chrishia Leon Guerrero. First runners up were Joshua Wodson and Marilyn Cruz.
