Megarr’s contract not renewed

“I spoke with Bruce with respect to his contract and we are not renewing it,” Muna told Variety.

He said the position of Megarr is now “open” and the vacancy has already been advertised.

Muna said Megarr was already advised to “prepare” as his contract will expire at the end of the month.

Based on CUC policy, an employee should be notified 30 days prior to the expiration of his  contract of employment.

If Megarr will reapply for the position, Muna said CUC will reevaluate his performance.

“As far as rehiring, Bruce is aware of what our expectations are, and what we expect from him and the process,” he said.

Muna said  he appreciates Megarr’s term of service “and all he has done to bring progress to CUC and compliance with the Clean Water Act and Safe Drinking Water Act.”

But he said it’s the employer’s option to evaluate and make the decision whether or not to continue a relationship with an employee.

According to Muna, an employer may look at other options available that are in the “best interest of the corporation and the public.”

Muna said there are interested applicants for Megarr’s post.

But if no one is qualified, Muna said, he is capable of assuming the post while waiting for the right applicant.
