With seven of his 34 points in the first quarter and Lerio Pagarao backing him up with a pair of two-pointers, Herrera set the lead for Grillin.
Grillin did not trail as Herrera kept the surge with Roy Hernandez and Joshua Norita chipping in six and four of their total points respectively in the second quarter.
Pagarao helped Herrera in controlling the offense in the third quarter as they managed to pull away when Managaha’s Carlo Samson fired his second three-pointer.
The Grillin defenders protected their territory too tight in the fourth nailing Managaha to 55 points.
Herrera poured in 16 points and Pagarao sizzled with nine points and Grillin never looked back.
KOI 74, Torch Bearers 67
Tony Webb had 24 points and Juan Camacho added 14 points to help KOI beat the Torch Bearers, 74-67.
Down by four points at the end of third quarter, and Camacho rallied in the final period with six and four of their total points to take the lead.
With Nelson Samson firing eight of his 21 points in the first quarter, the Torch Bearers were leading by four points in the first quarter.
Jun Abedes fired eight of his total points in the second including a three-pointer to help stretch the lead. With Krisgel Arresa backing him up, Abedes kept the surge in the third quarter to stay afloat.
Catching errors and lose balls resulted a series of turn-over that converted to KOI’s scoring spree with Sacramento firing nine of his total points and Webb sinking eight to help KOI come back and never trailed.
