On Friday, Associate Judge Kenneth Govendo heard the oral arguments of Assistant Public Defender Matthew Holley and Assistant Attorneys General Jennifer Dockter and Michael Evangelista.
The defendants were Jesus A. Leon Guerrero, Lillian T. Duenas, Maitai K. Charley, and Joseph James Villagomez.
Leon Guerrero was required to issue $5,050 as an appearance bond for his temporary liberty.
Leon Guerrero was stopped by a police officer in Chalan Kanoa for a traffic violation on Feb. 23, 2010.
At the time, Leon Guerrero was not wearing a helmet and his scooter did not have a license plate, police said.
Police conducted a search on Leon Guerrero after his arrest when he tried to elude the officers.
Police said they found drug paraphernalia, a cigarette stick believed to be marijuana, and a small Ziplock bag containing white crystal-like substance believed to be “ice.”
Defendant Duenas was released to her third-party custodian, Carmencita Pinaula.
She was required to post $200 or 10 percent of the $2,000 bail and $1,800 in unsecured bond.
Duenas was arrested by the police on the charge of theft and forgery.
Mixed martial arts fighter Charley was ordered to post $300 or 10 percent of the $3,000 bail, and $2,700 in unsecured or appearance bond.
Charley was released to his third-party custodian, Blumei Ramon, his common-law wife.
Charley was arrested for disturbing the peace, assault and battery, and criminal mischief.
Villagomez was released to his third-party custodian, Antonette San Nicolas, his common-law wife.
The court required Villagomez to post $300 or 10 percent of the $3,000 bail, and the remainder $2,700 in unsecured or appearance bond.
Villagomez was arrested for disturbing the peace, assault and battery, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest.
