Kagman residents alarmed by kidnapping, assault incidents

Dikito said more Kagman residents have now expressed interest to join the task force.

He expects the March 12 regular meeting of the task force to draw more participants.

Dikito and block captain Eric Magofna, Kagman High School vice principal, earlier met with teachers, parents and other community members to discuss about the task force.

“Everybody wants to get involved now,” Dikiot told Variety.

Reps. Frederick P. Deleon Guerrero, Ind.-Saipan, and Ramon S. Basa, Covenant-Saipan, sent their representatives to the meeting.

Dikito said Deleon Guerrero  promised to seek  appropriation for the street lightning project in Kagman.

He said leaders of different sport organizations are also supporting the task force.

“This will encourage our youth to be physically active in many sports events which will deter them from committing misdemeanors,” he added.

Task force members plan to conduct a “door-to-door” campaign to get more members of the community involved, he said.
