With this year’s slogan, “Basketball, It’s What We Do” the CNMI’s premier men’s basketball competition will get to signify Budweiser brand- the world’s most recognizable and famous adult beverage, and BANMI’s long-standing ties with the brand in providing the islands with the island’s best basketball competition for many years.
BANMI said that during last week’s technical meeting, eight of the best island-wide men’s basketball teams, including the CNMI national team have solidified their interest to participate in the Budweiser Basketball League.
Each team, BANMI said is guaranteed to receive full custom-made uniform sets by Island Apparel donning Budweiser’s famous brands, and for the first time since the FIBA Oceania Tournament, the Budweiser Basketball League will be utilizing the FIBA LiveStats program.
“We’re taking Budweiser and basketball to another level,” says BANMI president, Elias Rangamar.
“We’re gonna be doing our best to give teams the same kind of experience that we had from the successful FIBA Oceania Basketball Tournament through FIBA LiveStats.This is the first for the league,” he added.
For his part, league commissioner, Gabriel White said, “This year’s league is going to be great!Budweiser and BANMI have teamed up to give fans another season of exciting basketball games and much more.You gotta come and watch.”
Basketball fans can cheer on their favorite participating teams who will have an opportunity to take on the CNMI men’s national team before they will go for gold at the 2010 Micronesian Games in Palau.
In addition, basketball cyberspacers can catch all of the play-by-play live on the internet via FIBA LiveStats.
BANMI added that the Budweiser league organizers will be hosting a media day with MARPAC representatives on Wednesday, June 9 at 5:30 p.m.
In this meeting, all team coaches and managers will first draw league seedings.After the first draw is completed, teams will draw a second time and receive their selected Budweiser brand team uniforms.
