San Vicente Elementary School principal Joaquina DLG. Salas said the event is conducted every three months.
She said their 666 students from kindergarten to sixth grade played different games and exercises.
Valerie Nada, fifth grade teacher and one of the event coordinators, said they had five stations and each offered at least two games.
Nada said students performed activities for 30 to 45 minutes at each station using sports equipment. The games included tug-of-war, circuit training, dodge ball, hula-hoop, jumping ropes and water sports.
The morning event from 9 a.m. to 12 noon was for the students, while teachers and other staff members participated in their wellness program in the afternoon.
“The games will help the students learn about teamwork and team building,” Nada said.
The other coordinators were fifth grade teachers Rosalinda Adams, Therry Patris, and Rose Reyes.
The school started holding its field day every quarter last year. It previously held the event at every end of the school year.
The Public School System, through its Innovative Assistance Program, earlier released federal grants it had received for the purchase of sports paraphernalia used for the field day.
