Business as usual at Susupe flea market tomorrow

Divine Sotto of Life Care, formerly BizAid Saipan Inc., said that will be closing the night bazaar in observance of Black Saturday.

“The night bazaar will open again on Saturday next week,” Sotto said.

Since the night bazaar was opened in February, sales have been steadily increasing, she added.

“Most of the people who go to the flea market usually buy stuff during the day, but the night bazaar is slowly becoming popular, too” Sotto said.

Most of the vendors on Saturday stay and extend until the night but they have to pay another fee for the night bazaar, Sotto said.

The night bazaar aims to attract not only the local community but tourists as well.

Sotto said it was designed to supplement the Thursday street market in Garapan.

But most of items sold at the night bazaar are brand new or used house ware or kitchen ware, jewelry, electronic items, clothes, shoes, beauty products, books, toys, and everything else, she added.

“We invite you to visit the night bazaar and the flea market for the cheapest goods you can buy on island,” Sotto said.

The international flea market opened in Oct. 2008 while the night bazaar started on Feb. 9, 2010.

The flea market opens at 9 a.m. onward while the night bazaar starts at 5 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m.  For more information, contact Sotto at 234-7626.
