Gov. Chiokai wins the State election

Chiokai garnered 135 votes while his opponent Jeffrey Titiml got 125 votes.

For the 12 legislature seat, Esichang Takawo was topped with 190 votes. Followed by Valentina Bangiar Omelau with 178 votes; Clifford Poch Osima, 171 votes; Midas Ngiracheluolu, 170 votes; Roman Mongami, 169 votes; Inawo Sebaklim, 146 votes; Asailee Yamada, 146 votes; Richard Ngiraked, 145 votes; Hadley Hesus, 144 votes; Elmis Ruluked, 139 votes; Kurt Ngiraked, 132 votes and Jack Ngiraked with 126 votes.

The certification of the election result was made 15 days after the election.

However, no schedule has been set yet for the swearing- in ceremony of the newly elected officials, according to the State Governor’s office.

Meanwhile for the Constitutional referendum, the PEC also certified the election result on Tuesday.

The “Yes” won with 203 votes while “No” has 56 votes.

The Kayangel State voted for referendum to reduce the amendments votes of 65 from 75 percent.
