Seven prosecutors have already left the AG’s Office after Attorney General Edward Buckingham assumed office last year.
“I’m still working,” Evangelista said when the Variety visited his office yesterday.
Asked about his resignation, Evangelista responded: “No comment.”
A source said Evangelista has been considering returning to private practice since December.
Another source said “the silence is deafening” at the AGO’s criminal division.
There should be no “politics” at the AGO, another source said.
Variety was told that Buckingham called for a meeting with the prosecutors yesterday afternoon, but it did not push through.
