Gov. Adachi clears employees’ termination issue

Adachi cleared the issue on Tuesday regarding the six employees.

In an interview, Adachi said that he did not terminate those employees, but instead he reassigned them to different departments.

“It is not a termination, but it is a reassignment with salary adjustment based on their task and responsibilities.” Adachi said.

He said that as a Governor it is his responsibility to ensure that all performance of the employees as team should continue and is should not be tainted by politics.

“I always trust the public view. That’s how I got here so I let them decide.” the Governor added.

Adachi, however, admitted that he fired one employee during his administration. He said he terminated the employee because the position she was holding is no longer a position.

Earlier report, Gov. Adachi allegedly asked the employees who supported his opponent, former Sen. Alan Seid to tender their resignations.

Adachi said the employees have until end of December last year to resign.

This is the second time Adachi elected as a Governor of the Koror State.
