The Cultural Heritage & Arts Pacifika Exhibit is slated sometime next month, and Arts Council events coordinator Parker Yobei is already urging artists, especially those who are not registered yet, to come and register their artwork.
The exhibit serves as a link to connect the local artists to buyers, and as a venue for the CNMI’s artists to showcase their talents.
The Arts Council hosts two other art exhibits each year — the Women’s Art Exhibit after the Flame Tree Arts Festival, and the Christmas Art Exhibit in December.
The Arts Council does not get anything from the sales as all proceeds go to the artists.
Yobei said they will try to make it possible to hold the art exhibit in a convenient location more accessible to the people.
To be showcased during the Cultural Heritage & Arts Pacifika Exhibit are paintings, photographs, locally made handicrafts and products, and other works of art.
Last year, the Cultural Heritage & Arts Pacifica Exhibit was open to the public from Sept. 21 to Oct. 23 at the Arts Council office on Capital Hill.
Yobei said they will be releasing details regarding the date and venue of the exhibit as soon as the plans are finalized.
To register, visit the Arts Council office or call 322-9982.
