Alik was welcomed at the Shanghai International Airport by Ambassador Hu Qianwen; Zhao Weiping, deputy director general of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Fu Jihong, deputy director general of the Foreign Affairs Office of Shanghai.
With the Chinese welcoming party were Akillino Susaia, FSM ambassador to China, Carl Apis, deputy chief of mission of the FSM Embassy to China, and Brendy Carl, deputy assistant secretary of the FSM Department of Foreign Affairs.
Other members of the FSM delegation arrived in Shanghai the day before Vice President Alik, including: Marion Henry, secretary of the Department of Resources and Development; Senators Christian, Halbert, Welly and Mori; Governor Weilbacher of Kosrae; Governor Ehsa of Pohnpei; Assistant Secretary Elieisar of FSM DFA; Speaker Pelep of Pohnpei State Legislature; Chief Justice Aliksa of Kosrae State; and Vincent Sivas of the FSM Embassy in Beijing.
Governor Anefal of Yap and Speaker Chieng joined the delegation on Sunday as the Friday flight, in and out of Yap, was canceled due to the dangerous lack of visibility that day for landing and takeoff.
