House Bill 8-91-7 stated that the imposition of a fee for vehicle parking at the airport is still an untapped source of income for the Republic.
The measure stated that there are 192 parking spaces at the airport and 30 of which are reserved by contract by car rental companies.
The delegates who authored the bill proposed a $2 fee for the 162 remaining parking spaces.
The measure stated that these fees can help the country as far as generating additional revenues and at the same time the proposed fee will not overly burden the community.
The bill proposes that every vehicle that parks or enter the parking lot will be subjected to a fee.
The bill however does not specify whether the fee will be imposed by hour or by the day.
The measure was authored by Dels. Lentcer Basilius, Horace Rafael, Gibson Kanai, Secilil Elbedechel , Swenny Ongidobel, Tmewang Rengulbai and Wayne Andrew.
