The breakdown of the federal monies that PSS is expected to get in the next few months has been completed, Variety learned.
Aside from Garapan Elementary School and William S. Reyes Elementary School, Dandan Elementary School and Tanapag Elementary School will also get a share of the federal funds.
PSS federal programs officer Tim Thornburgh said PSS will use $1.7 million to fund 70 teachers and support staff of GES which has 829 students; $1.5 million for WSR which has 60 teachers and teacher aides and 714 students; $983,189 for DES which employs 41 teachers and teacher aides and has 481 students; and $766,000 for TES which has 20 personnel and 210 students.
The total amount of money that will go to the four schools’ personnel is $4.4 million while $546,127 will be used to pay for the schools’ utilities.
Thornburgh said the remaining amount will be used to continue funding 105 full-time employees for the coming school year.
PSS will also use the money for support personnel needed for project expansion, teacher recruitment, an upgrade of the financial management system and space rental for technology program. These will cost $720,230.
PSS will be among the U.S. school districts that will get $8.3 million from the $10 billion federal Education Jobs Fund.
