Library executive director John O. Gonzales said the family fun day will start at 8 a.m. and end at 12 noon tomorrow.
“We will be setting up a mini-carnival with different booths and exhibits for the community to explore,” Gonzales said.
They will be issuing passes that the students and children can use to hop from one booth to another, answer trivia questions, contests and participate in more activities.
There will be exhibits from the Matua Riders, MHS-Chamorro Club, open house tour of the library and recognition of donors and benefactors.
Gonzales said attractive prizes are at stake for the winners courtesy of sponsors.
The library will also be giving out free t-shirts and other giveaways to the first individuals who will join the fun day.
Book sale
Gonzales said the Friends of the Library will also host a book sale.
He is urging everybody to clean their attics and basements to check if they have books they would like to donate for the book sale.
If somebody donates a book that is not in the collection of the library yet, they will keep it and add to the collection, but all the other donated books and magazines will be sold at the book sale.
“Please check out your excess books and books you have already read and bring them to the library for the book sale,” Gonzales said.
He also repeats his invitation to delinquent borrowers to avail of the amnesty program until tomorrow and return all overdue books, magazines, DVDs, CDs and other library materials free of fines.
All throughout the week, the library has been holding daily open house and other activities and exhibits for the community to learn more about the importance of libraries to enhance learning. For more information, call 235-7322.
