Bureau of Immigration has new officers

Immigration Director Jenkins Mariur said the new officers filled in the slots which had been vacant for five months.

The new immigration officers are Francis Alonz, Ngedikes Uro, Jordan Ngirchongewikl, Janee Kloulchad and Raynold Aquino.

Mariur said the five officers will undergo six months probationary period before they would become officer 1. They will be assigned then to the airport and at the Immigration’s office and perform the task of what other regular employees do.

Mariur, however, said that the five employees are temporary assigned at the Immigration’s office.

The director added that the slots became available because of the employees occupying the positions already retired.

He said that there were 30 applicants but only five were hired and qualified for the positions.

The new employees will be utilized by the BOI for the upcoming alien registration which is set on August 16 to September 30.

The alien registration which requires all foreign workers to register and pay for $25 will be held at the Civic Center.

The registration time will start from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
