Palau took driver seat at the baseball competition in the past two days of games as they put out impressive wins against their opponents and remains to be undefeated.
However in day three, their baseball skills was put to a big test after edging team Guam in a thrilling challenge.
With a score tied at 5 – 5 at the 7th inning, Palau player Blanco batting with full base situation, and spectators hanging tight on their seats, team Guam pitcher threw three balls. And as everything is all set, Guam pitcher wind up and hurled a fast ball in which the home umpire shouted “ball”, giving Merei Ise of Palau at third base a walk to home plate and score 6 – 5, Palau.
As a result, Palau went on to win the game and continue to stay on top of the rest of the countries.
Palau’s next assignment will be team CNMI who is just won also against team Guam with a score of 6 – 2.
