From a basketball player to a gold medalist on weightlifting, rookie Dembei Watanabe, lifted his might on the 56kg class for the clean and jerk and snatch to bag a handful of medals for him and for his country. At the same time, long time weightlifter and gold medalist on both Oceania and Micronesian competitions, Alexandra Patris, cleared her lift on the 69kg class to add up once more to her collections of gold medals.
In addition to the two Palau weightlifters, teammates namely Mace Ngiraungil, Stevick Patris, Mavrick Faustino, and Dmitri Villanueva showed their strength as well when they won respective medals at their categories for this years Micronesian Games Weightlifting competition.
