If Mr. Cruz and Dr. Cunningham and consulted the Ailang (tribe) that owns the ancient knowledge and given proper respect and protocol when making such a request, then they would have learned that a one-day voyage can turn into several weeks or months. All the elements of nature, such as Yang (wind direction), Fatae/Saetbwil (current), Noa (wave), Bwongil Maraam (moon phases, voyaging season, etc., are all factors in making voyages, whether they be short or long.
Whose idea was it anyway, to use PVC pipe as part of the sail and to install a satellite tracking device? Is it really for educational purposes, or is it someone trying to steal our knowledge for personal interest, recognition, or perhaps to earn a PhD degree?
