The Philippine Consulate General on Saipan will receive ballots of registered Filipino overseas absentee voters only until May 10, 2010 at 8 p.m., the last day of voting.
Until the end of the voting period, the consulate will remain open on weekends and holidays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and during regular weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
More than a thousand voters have already submitted their accomplished ballots. Close to 700 voters, however, have obtained their ballot packages but have yet to submit their accomplished ballots to the Consulate. Further, more than 5,000 ballot packages remain unclaimed at the consulate.
Registered Filipino overseas absentee voters are advised to visit or call the consulate to arrange for the mailing of their ballot packets. Completed ballots may be submitted directly or mailed to the consulate.
All registered Filipino overseas absentee voters are advised to submit their completed ballots as soon as possible and avoid the last day rush.
The Philippine Consulate General reiterates its call to registered Filipino overseas absentee voters to use their right to vote for the people who will lead the country in the coming years.
