Palau Election Commission (PEC) Avery Midas, election officer III said they now accepting petitions from the candidates who will file candidacies.
The deadline of filing for the nominating petition is on May 10, 15 days before the election date.
The registration for the new voters of the Kayangel State meanwhile has also started. The registration deadline is set on April 26.
Midas said those who are 18 years of age and above are entitled to register so that they can vote on the Election Day.
The Kayangel State has 419 registered voters. Elected officials will serve two years in office. The last election was held in 2008.
Meanwhile, the Legislative election in Ngiwal and Ngarchelong States is set in August while the State of Angaur General Election will be in November 2010.
