Rollers beat Tinian Community in fiesta tournament

With Zack Tudela and Ham Hambros helping him out, Matagolai handed the Rollers-A a big lead in the first quarter.

The Rollers A did not trail until Tinian Community’s hit man cut the lead down in fourth quarter when Matagolai, Hambros and the rest of the Rollers A were too exhausted to keep surge.

However, the Rollers A have established the lead wide enough for them to stay afloat up to the last few minutes of the game.

From a nine-point deficit, Tinian Community rallied to cut it down to six with a two-pointer and penalty shot in the middle of the fourth quarter.

The Rollers A’s shooting slackened at this period and seconds to the buzzer, Tinian Community fired a three-pointer to close in, but not enough to turn the game around.

The Rollers A prevailed with a three-point lead still left to secure their 89-86 victory.

Matagolai finished with 21 points, Brandon Aulerio had 16 points, Hambros, 14 points; Fred Luitulumar 12 points; Zack Tudela 11 points, Norita 10 points, Jomar Danas seven points and Luizi Reyes, 6 points.

Tudela and Reyes had four sucessful assists.

During the playoff against Tinian High School, Matagolai controlled the Roller A’s offense tallying 21 points. Diaz would like to thank Youth Center Director Juanis King, Mayor Dela Cruz and tournament director Chris King and his family.
