Playing two-point game, Team Solid and Basket Case traded successful shots during the first quarter, but Lalaine Pagarao went luckier in the last few minutes to edge Team Solid by two points, then, helped preserve the lead all the way to the quarter break.
Mercedez Mesa controlled Basket Case’s offense to keep pace in the second quarter but team captain Amy Sletten made the best use of her height grabbing rebounds to add seven more points in the second quarter.
Nikki Gabaldon who did not play when Basket Case beat team solid last May 14, saw action this time and chipped in four points to help Team Solid stretch the lead in the third quarter.
Sletten scored 11 more points in the second half to finish with 23 points leading Team Solid to their 59-46 victory.
Pagarao added 16 points.
Mesa unleashed her best in the fourth quarter firing 11 of her points but Team Solid held Basket Case off with tight defense, then, swallowed time to maintain their lead all the way to the final buzzer.
The Team Solid cagebelles were scheduled last night to play second placer, Bon Faiyah while top team, Green Team will face Team 1.
