The Bon Faiyah girls who pounded Team Solid with 10 points on Monday and the Green Team that defeated Team I Don’t know will finally cross path as the women’s caging moves on to the semi finals at 6:30 p.m., at the Gilbert C. Ada Gym.
Bon Faiyah team captain Connie Camacho who always see to it her quad pace it just right, neither slow down nor rush, also finds herself in the front line to keep or regain the lead.
She did not see enough action in the first half of their game against Team Solid but when Bon Faiyah’s shooting started to slacken while the time dwindle away, she stepped in and scored 14 points leading her team to 57-47 victory.
Green Team’s Melody Matson also carried her team quite as well in every game making things happen as planned. And when the danger of falling behind grips their game, there was always her sister, Emily and Green Team’s other sisters, Andrea and Christina Engelhardt to save the day.
Meanwhile, Team I Don’t Know and Team Solid still hanged on after beating their respective opponents—the Lady Eagles and Basket Case during last Wednesday’s game.
Team Solid and Team I Don’t Know will clash at 8 p.m.
Team IDK 68, Basket Case 52
Jamie Mendoza and Glorily Williams dominated Basket Case in the second quarter firing 11 and 10 of their total points respectively to help Team IDK maintain the lead.
Lena Guzman chipped in 11 points.
Williams continued the surge in the third quarter and Team IDK never trailed. Mendoza added six points in the fourth quarter and finished with 27 points leading Team IDK to their 68-52 victory.
Team Solid 88,Lady Eagles 56
Lalaine Pagarao scattered 24 of her 39 points in the second half and team captain Amy Sletten tallied 20 points leading Team Solid to rout the Lady Eagles.
With Sletten’s 10 points, Pagarao’s nine and Nikki Gabaldon’s six markers, Team Solid blew the Lady Eagles out in the first quarter.
Pagarao and Sletten combined 10 points in the third quarter to widen the gap and Team Solid never looked back.
