One ultimate way to watch your summer fly

There’s soccer, football, basketball, tennis; the list goes on and on! But if you’re not as fit and you don’t like bumps and scratches, you’ve got to opt for a non-contact sport. Enter Ultimate Frisbee. It has some running, some coordination and it’s a really easy sport to learn! All you really need are a pair of running shoes and a Frisbee (preferably a 175 gram disc.)

The object of the game is relatively easy: get the disc to the opposing team’s end zone. It combines some passing elements from soccer, and some gameplay elements of a football game. Make no mistake; this game is a lot more demanding than it looks, this is not a typical day at the beach, there’s running, jumping, sprinting, and sometimes, lunging and diving are involved. There are plenty of throws to learn to keep the game fresh and make the game exciting. There are skills you can pick up from the sport that can have a huge carryover to other sports that are similar to Ultimate. And with the running you’ll do in the games you’ll play, you can expect improved cardiovascular health and endurance.

So if you’re tired of doing nothing over the summer or you want to try a new sport, try Ultimate! There are other sports out there too! Just stay active and your summer won’t go to waste!
