Airport at approximately 8:30 a.m.
The remains were accompanied by a team of U.S. military honor guards who escorted the body to Finniginam’s family home in Dalipebinaw.
Finniginam was buried on Monday.
Another delegation led by U.S. Ambassador Peter Prahar arrived in Yap earlier.
Members of his delegation included Maj. Gen. Donald J. Goldhorn.
They were here to attend Finniginam’s funeral and burial.
He arrived earlier so he could have time to meet with the family of the deceased and assist with other arrangements before the arrival of the remains.
Finniginam passed away in the line of duty on May 1 at the Forward Operating Base Blessing in Afghanistan from shrapnel caused by an exploding rocket that targeted the camp.
